The one-off job that tackles everything routine cleaning leaves aside: the inside of appliances and storage, high surfaces, nooks and corners.
Inside things, and in the right order
A deep clean starts with whatever needs time to soak. The oven and extractor hood get their degreaser first, so burnt-on deposits soften while we work elsewhere; we come back to them afterwards, without scratching the enamel. The fridge is emptied with you, then washed, drawers and door seals included.
Next come the high places: tops of wardrobes and cupboards, door frames, reachable air vents, light fittings. Then the inside of kitchen cupboards emptied beforehand, furniture fronts, handles, switches and skirting boards, tile grout, limescale on the taps, windows from the inside. Floors come last.
In Toulouse, people often call us after a spell of autan wind, which leaves fine dust right into the window tracks; on returning from a long absence, to reopen a house that's been shut up; after a family gathering; or when a pet has left hair and smells in the soft furnishings. Each case has its own priorities, which we set during the visit.

Deep cleaning: your questions
How is it different from a regular cleaning visit?
A regular visit keeps an already clean home clean. A deep clean tackles what doesn't get done every week: the inside of the oven and cupboards, the tops of furniture, grout, doors. So it takes considerably longer.
Can you clean up once a pet has left the home?
Yes: thorough vacuuming of upholstery and the corners where hair builds up, washing of floors and skirting boards, then airing. A smell soaked into a mattress or carpet may, however, need more than a deep clean.
Should I empty the cupboards before you come?
For those you want cleaned inside, yes, it's better: you decide for yourself what comes out of your cupboards, and our time goes on the cleaning.
