Bin rotation and bin store cleaning

Bins out on time, back in after collection, and a bin store that no longer smells, even in August.

The collection calendar first, then the smell

Managing bins starts with a calendar. Collection days for household waste and packaging vary from one part of Toulouse to another, and a bin put out too early clutters the pavement while a forgotten one overflows for a week. We schedule our visits around the collection days for your address: bins out in time, back in once emptied, pavement left clean.

The smell rarely comes from the bin alone. It settles in the bottom of the containers, but also in the tile grout of the bin store, the lower walls at lid height and the floor drain. So washing and disinfecting covers the bins, inside and out, then the store itself: floor, walls, door and handle. With Toulouse summers, this washing is worth doing more often from June to September.

The rubbish chute, where one still exists, is cleaned along with the store: the hatches on each floor, the accessible chute and the collection area. This service is for co-owned buildings, landlords and businesses, and combines easily with communal area cleaning.

FAQ

Bins and bin stores: your questions

Who knows the collection days for my street?

We check them for your address when setting up, and keep track of any changes, for instance around public holidays.

Can this be combined with stairwell cleaning?

Yes, it's actually the simplest option: the same cleaner puts the bins out and looks after the communal areas, under a single contract.

Why does the bin store still smell after a quick rinse?

Because the residue stays in the grout, at the bottom of the walls and in the floor drain. The whole store needs washing and then disinfecting so the smell doesn't come back two days later.
